Departure from Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne and arrival at La Toussuire. This variant is the one used by the Tour de France in 2006. It is marked by kilometers and equipped with a self-timing system, with intermediate times calculated at Le Corbier.
Although not officially classified as a col, the La Toussuire climb is no less legendary. It passes through the commune of Le Corbier. There is a variant via St-Pancrace and Les Bottières.
